A day in the life of a poor carter who transports customers and merchandise in a horse-drawn cart. The cart, his sole work tool, is confiscated by a functionary and he returns home penniless with no food. His wife goes to offer her services as a prostitute to pay for their evening meal. A picture of daily life in Dakar’s shanty districts.
