The film tackles the theme of urban decadence and survival through a petty criminal who later transforms into a big-time car thief ; a sexuallly-traumatized teenager who becomes a hardened con artist ; a scheming syndicate boss who covers up as a high-class cafe owner. The characters are ail driven by the exploitative circumstances of living in a city where to be worthy of survival, one needs to be a “wating” – cunning, wily, crafty, sharp, intuitive, competitive, street-smart…
