The Red Women's Detachment

In 1930, on the southern island of Hainan, the Communist guerrilla has a company only made up of women and called the Red Women’s Detachment. The flm tells their story. Wu Qionghua feels deep hatred for Nan Batian, the landowner who keeps her as a slave and who killed her father. All she thinks about is escaping and taking her revenge, but every time she tries, she is caught and thrown into a dark cell, with water up to her chest. Hong Changqing, a Communist Party agent, snatches her from the claws of her tormentors and helps her take refuge in the mountains with the Red Women’s Detachment.
