Raj Karan Yadav is an ambitious young taxi driver. But, he has a long way to go: he and his wife live in a small room in Dharavi, one of the world’s largest slums. He devises schemes to make a better living, but petty crooks get the better of him.
The film has a relentless pace, and a mise en scène that is daring but always pertinent to its subject – the burning issue of power and violence in the slums. City of Dreams was in competition at the 1992 F3C.
