The story is set in 1914, the year the Panama Canal was opened. A North America citizen joins up with Colombians to defend the country’s interests against the USA Government’s projects.

A pioneering film in 1926, Garras de oro is viewed by film historians as the first anti-imperialist film in world cinema.
