Tamir, a young boxer raised by his grand-father in the Mongolian tradition, leaves the countryside for Ulaan Baatar where he joins the Mongolian boxing team coached by Bold. But Tamir’s encounter with Sarangua, Bold’s daughter, will lead the future champion in a différent direction.
The child of a privileged society, Sarangua mixes with a gang of provocative youth lured by the mirage of Western societies. She provokes her father and pushes Tamir to go out, drink and neglect his training. Tamir is too much in love and doesn’t heed Bold’s ivarning ; the boxing team will go on its European tour without him.As Sarangua has left him for Michel, a French anthropologist, and he finds himself alone, Tamir follows Damdin, the poet, an old lover of Tsetsgee’s, Sarangua’s mother. Unfortunately, during a dispute with Sarangua’s gang, Damdin dies and Tamir is charged with murder…
