The filmmaker sets out across the Argentine Pampas on the trail of W.H. Hudson, a fascinating and contradictory character who left his gaucho life and daily observation of nature to settle in England where he became a writer. He wrote endlessly about life in the Pampas but never returned there. From this melancholy and dreamy material of Hudson’s life, Andrés Di Tella pulls on a thread of identification that has numerous ramifications, and composes this “mixtape” which creates echoes between historical and political aspects, personal memories, ornithology and Argentine rock music in captivating subjective tones.
