700 candidates run for president of Iran during the 2001 elections. 48 of them are women whom the government refuses to recognize. In the first half of the film, we join a group of passionate and idealistic teenagers who have just turned 16-the voting age. They set up a campaign office to promote the popular reformist candidate, the eventual winner of the elections. The second half focuses on Arezoo Bayat, a twice- divorced 25-year-old woman. Yet she is running for president of her country.
