By day, Ras works on a construction site. But each evening after work, he paints graffiti on the walls of an eastern Cali neighbourhood. Ras has not slept for ages and is starting to daydream. When he steals some pots of paint to finish a huge wall painting, he is fired. Completely broke, he wanders the city in search of Calvin, another graffiti artist who has been to art school and is going through a difficult patch following his parents’ divorce.
