BRASIL
No more Milk (Nem mais um copo de leite)

Synopsis :No More Milk tells the story of Alencar, an efficient contract killer. He grants to all of his victims, a last wish a week before he kills them. It all goes well until the sudden discovery of a terminal illness that forces him to leave his routine behind and go to a hospital. There, he reads a newspaper article written by Rodrigo, a journalist with a pungent interest for all things related to death. Alencar decides to contact this journalist and proposes to tell him his life story. Rodrigo agrees to meet him and the two of them begin to see each other daily at the hospital for long periods of time. As the reports grow in time and intensity, a strong sense of friendship to one another develop.

Synopsis : Sheba’s young son Khalid drowns, and she cannot face the grief. She leaves her husband, Abdul and the remote, Islamic Island of Lamu for a new lover in the city. Fast Forward four years, and Sheba’s lover, Rakman, a promising MP and sociopath suddenly dies. Rakman leaves Sheba with nothing except debt. Sheba reluctantly returns to Abdul in order to claim ownership of her marital home, but returning to her husband means defending her infidelity and finally confronting the death of Khalid.

Synopsis : Inspired by the current rise of exorcist hysteria in rural Mexico, Invoking Dolores examines faith, guilt and sexual desire through the supernatural drama of Miguel Angel, a young priest who returns to his fiercely religious village to follow in the footsteps of Father Arreola, the parish exorcist who raised him. But a rising wave of demonic possessions soon reveals the village a veritable ground zero in the war of good versus evil.

Synopsis : Daniel, 13, is an aloof little boy. He's quiet, withdrawn, and has violent mood swings. After getting into a bloody fight at school, Daniel's grandfather, Lolo, takes him up a majestic, blue mountain. The trip takes three days, and leads them through beautiful forests, a pristine lake, a raging white river, and a waterfall with hidden secrets. Throughout the journey, Lolo tries to break through Daniel's tough exterior. In doing so, he reveals their pasts: Daniel is traumatized after losing his parents to a flood, while Lolo wishes to see the only reminder he has left of Daniel's dead father — a carving he once made at the top of the mountain, overlooking the clouds.

The Man who cares (El hombre que cuida)

Synopsis : The man who takes care of the house spends a lot of time alone. It has been a few years since he’s the guardian of this property own by a wealthy family from the city. The house is hidden between the mountains and a private beach. It is for sale. At the end of the week, Don Víctor, the owner, is coming with the buyers to deliver the house to them and to take Juan with him. Don Víctor wants him to watch over another house in some far and heavenly part of the island. Without notice or permission from his father, Rich, Don Victor’s son, shows up in the house with Karen, a teenage girl from a town nearby. Juan has no choice but to receive them, even though he knows they will make his job a lot more difficult these days...

Synopsis : A stateless, pregnant young woman's husband goes missing while crossing the river between Thailand and Myanmar to get her to a small and temporary Refugee Camp hospital. Another woman, working with an aid group, is hospitalized alongside her for exhaustion and depression while mourning the loss of her newborn infant. They learn each other's stories, and form an empathetic relationship. A nearly dead man washes ashore far to the south, and is rescued and befriended by a lonely, good-hearted fisherman whose wife has recently run away. They help each other and begin to bond, through a long process of learning new routines...
