The bracelet seller
Synopsis: The film takes place in Kabul. It is about a beautiful young street-vendor, Rana, whose picture is taken by a journalist. The photograph later appears in a Kabul magazine. This is the beginning of the end for Rana who is then ostracised by her colleagues, repudiated by her husband, sent back to her village and generally rejected by the whole community. The journalist tries to find the girl again in vain. |

Yama Rahimi was born in Kabul in 1969.
From 2001 to 2003, he studied at Los Angeles Film School where he produced and directed 2 short films, Object of affection and Suspicion.
He created Yrfilms. He developed and produced The bracelet seller by Razi Mohebi, which is due to be released soon in Afghanistan.
He's now developping five other projects: Laila and her Romeo a love story shot as 300, Shame which telles the story of a woman coming back to Afghanistan, The price of courage about a drug's trafic by an afghan and foreigners group and its consequences, Before the dawn: Afghanistan in peace and Only his voice remains.

Razi Mohebi was born in 1971.
After studying fine art and film at the Faculty of Arts in Teheran, he returned to Afghanistan and took part in most of the films made after the fall of the Talibans. He was assistant director and actor in the film Five in the afternoon by Samira Makhmalbaf and assistant director for Osama by Siddik Barmak and Earth and Ashes by Atiq Rahimi.
In 2003, he also made The Kite, a short film. The bracelet seller is his first feature film.
