EL PATRON |
Argentina - 2004
The boss
Synopsis: Victor, an impoverished farmer, who has come to Buenos Aires in the hope of improving his miserable standard of living. Accustomed to the feudal types of relationships which are the rule where he comes from, Victor seeks a protector, a "patron" who might take him in, protect him and feed him. He is taken on as an employee in a butcher's shop by a sadistic and dishonest boss, who forces him to live like a slave and take part in the shady deals of his meat business. However, fear and submissiveness soon give way to anger and rebellion.
This project was awarded the ARTE prize for young producers and the "Produire au Sud" production workshop organised as part of the Buenos Aires Festival in 2004. |
