Déchaînement’s theme was first treated in a documentary, Au-delà de la peine, which was released in Cameroon in December 2002.

Cyril Masso was born 1971 in Yaoundé. He is an avid promoter of independent cinema production in his country and wishes to prolong his collaboration with Osvalde Lewat, which saw the creation of the documentary, Itilga.

After having studied at Frances cinema school La Femis, he worked on numerous projects in the roles associate producer and director.

Déchaînement, is his first project as executive producer.r.

En 1999, he founded Malo Pictures.

Confidences, his first feature length film, has won the jury Special Award in Fespaco 2007.

Déchaînement marks Osvalde Lewat’s debut in directing fiction, up until now he has directed documentaries (Les jeunes de la nuit, Berlin Fim Festival Video award, 1998).

Déchaînement screenplay is a fictionalization of events first treated in her documentary Au-delà de la peine.

She directed Un amour dans la guerre in 2005.
