EN ATTENDANT LE VOTE |
Burkina Faso - 2007
Synopsis:In an imaginary African land, the dictator-president Koyaga seeks refuge in his home village after an attack on his life. A long evening is organized in his honour but Koyaga finds himself forced to listen to fierce criticism generated by his 21 years of absolute power. This long and purifying account is necessary before the forthcoming elections.

Fascinated by reading and writing, Noraogo Sawadogo started out as a literary columnist with a Burkina Faso daily, before quickly moving on to script comic strips for children.
Then he began working as a screenwriter for TV series, the most recent of which are "Taxi-brousse" (a Benin-Burkina co-production) and "Commissariat de Tampy" (the first comic police series in West Africa).
He is now working with Faso Films.
“En attendant le vote” will be his first feature production.

After a degree in cinema, Missa Hébié took training courses in Europe and Canada. He directed several documentaries and short or medium-length fiction films between 1987 and 2003, including two series “Commissariat de Tampy” (52 x 26 min) in 2006, which was a huge hit in French-speaking Africa, and “Sita” (12 x 26 min) in 2000.
In 2003, he directed a short fiction film, “Djarabi” (Love). Missa Hébié has held a number of important posts including assistant to the permanent secretary of the Fespaco and assistant director of programming on Burkina National Television.
“En attendant le vote”, his second feature, is an adaptation of the famous novel “En attendant le vote des bêtes sauvages” by Ahmadou Kourouma.
